Review of Related Literature The review of related literatures of this study is made here in the Philippines and in abroad. It is acquired from the internet and unpublished theses. It is nearly related on the relationship of computer game addiction to interpersonal relationship to adolescents especially, K-12 students. To enrich the background on the subject of the researcher, the literatures that were found are here in presented. A. Foreign Studies Based from the study of Mark Griffiths (2007),â€Å"Does Internet and Computer Addiction Exist? It has been alleged that social pathologies are beginning to surface in cyberspace (i.e., technological addictions). To date, there is very little empirical evidence that computing activities†¦show more content†¦The addict may claim that he or she has lots of friends online yet still experience loneliness, depression, and social isolation due to the lack of in-person contact with others. And lastly, the most common result for those who are addicted to video games is family problem. Although poor family relationships may increase the likelihood of computer game addiction, computer game addiction often leads to family conflict. Someone addicted to computer games may accuse concerned family members of trying to interfere in his or her life, may be verbally or physically aggressive when others attempt to limit game play, and may try to hide just how much he/she plays. According to Rob Cover who studied Gaming (Ad) diction: Discourse, Identity, Time and Play in the Production of the Gamer Addiction Myth. He focuses to the production of an illusory dichotomy between the real and the virtual and a continuing cultural apprehension for activities and entertainments which are not viewed merely as the new but as dangerous by virtue of their representation as virtual.
